Trap gold for Neeru and Kynan with Asian Games record 34

Neeru Dhanda and Kynan Chenai have won the mixed trap team gold for India at the Asian Games 2026, setting a new Asian Games record of 34 hits.
The mixed trap event pairs one male and one female shooter, who take turns at the range as clay targets are launched at speed. India’s duo held their nerve in the final to clinch gold in record fashion.
The result continues India’s strong shooting tradition at the Asian Games. Indian shooters have regularly delivered medals across rifle, pistol and shotgun events, and the mixed team formats have added new opportunities.
The gold is part of a golden Wednesday for India at Aichi-Nagoya: the women’s compound archery team also won gold against China, the mixed archery pair struck gold, and the women’s 4x400m relay team claimed athletics gold.
India’s overall tally has reached 60 medals, including 10 gold, as of October 1. With shooting finals continuing through the week, the contingent will aim to add to the haul.
