ICC unveils ODI World Cup 2027 schedule in Cape Town today

The International Cricket Council unveils the schedule for the 2027 Men’s ODI World Cup at a grand launch event in Cape Town today, exactly one year before the tournament begins.
The ceremony at the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa will be broadcast live in India on JioHotstar and the Star Sports Network from 8:30 pm IST. The 14-team tournament runs from October 2 to November 21, 2027, across South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia — the first ODI World Cup on African soil in 23 years.
The event will feature 57 matches across 12 venues. Alongside the schedule, the ICC will open the global ticket ballot, which runs from October 1 to November 21, 2026. Fans can request up to four tickets per match, with a randomised draw deciding allocations where demand exceeds capacity.
Ten teams have secured direct qualification: hosts South Africa and Zimbabwe, plus India, Australia, England, New Zealand, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and Bangladesh. Four more spots will be decided through a global qualifier early next year, with two-time champions West Indies among those fighting for a place.
