Foundation Pledges $1 Million Match for Ukraine Winter Aid

The Myhal Family Foundation has pledged a $1 million matching gift to help Ukrainians prepare for another winter. Every donation to the CUF-UCC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal’s ‘Preparing for winter’ campaign will be matched dollar for dollar from October 1 to November 2.
The initiative will provide warmth, power and essential supplies to vulnerable communities. It comes as Ukrainians face a fifth winter since Russia’s full-scale invasion.
Continued attacks on energy infrastructure have damaged power, heating and water systems. The appeal aims to strengthen communities with energy resilience and clean water access.
‘Winter brings additional hardship for families already living with the consequences of war,’ said Rayla Myhal, the foundation’s president and director.
The CUF-UCC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal is a joint initiative of the Canada-Ukraine Foundation and the Ukrainian Canadian Congress.
Canadians can donate through the appeal’s website during the campaign window. The matching gift doubles the impact of every contribution, and organisers hope it encourages first-time donors.
