Air India has been ranked 57th in the Skytrax World Airline Awards 2026, climbing from 84th place in 2025. Singapore Airlines took the top spot on the global list.

The 27-place jump marks a big improvement for the Tata Group-owned airline. It reflects the carrier’s fleet upgrades and service improvements over the past year.

IndiGo was ranked 61st on the global list, according to reports on the awards. Both Indian carriers featured among the world’s top 100 airlines.

Skytrax rankings are based on passenger surveys covering service quality, cabin comfort and airport experience. Airlines from Asia and the Gulf dominated the top ranks this year.

Air India has been in the middle of a major transformation since its privatisation. The improved ranking gives the airline a boost as it competes with global rivals on international routes. The awards are seen as a key benchmark for service quality in the aviation industry.
