New Hanoi-Prague Flight Launches October 10

VietJet is scheduled to start a new Hanoi-Prague service on October 10, 2026, with a stop in Almaty. The airline will operate the route twice weekly using an Airbus A330-300 that carries up to 377 passengers.

The new link creates a three-city travel corridor between Hanoi, Almaty and Prague. Kazakhstan's Civil Aviation Committee says the service uses fifth-freedom traffic rights, which means tickets can also be sold for the Prague-Almaty sector alone.

Prague Airport estimates the connection could attract more than 67,000 passengers in both directions during its first year. With two weekly flights in each direction, the route offers roughly 78,400 seats a year both ways, so the forecast represents about 85 percent of capacity.

For travellers, the service opens new tourism flows between Southeast Asia and Central Europe. It also gives Almaty a bigger role than a simple refuelling stop, turning the Kazakh city into a destination on the itinerary in its own right.
