IPL 2027 player auction to be held in Goa in December
The IPL 2027 player auction will be held in Goa in December. BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia confirmed this on September 23, 2026.
It will be the last mini-auction of the 2023-27 cycle. The auction returns to India after recent editions in Dubai, Jeddah and Abu Dhabi. The last three auctions were all held outside India.
The exact date has not been announced yet. It is expected in the second week of December, likely on December 15 and 16. The board has not fixed a date yet.
The retention deadline has also not been announced. It is usually set in late November. Teams will finalise their squads after the auction.
The IPL 2027 season is expected to run from late March to May 30, 2027. The Goa auction is the final player auction of the current cycle.
