Ronaldo-Less Portugal Beat Denmark 4-2 As Sister Alleges ‘Betrayal’

Portugal defeated Denmark 4-2 in the UEFA Nations League on Thursday without captain Cristiano Ronaldo, hours after his sister accused the team setup of betraying him. Elma Aveiro posted on Instagram that ‘betrayal is a dish best served cold, and what goes around comes around’.
Ronaldo, 41, left Portugal’s training camp this week following a rift with head coach Jorge Jesus. The Al Nassr striker was benched for the entire 2-1 win over Norway, and reports said a promised apology from Jesus never came. Ronaldo said he would reveal the full truth in the coming days.
Portugal still won comfortably at Parken Stadium in Copenhagen. Denmark striker Rasmus Hojlund scored a 53rd-minute equaliser to make it 2-2 and celebrated with Ronaldo’s trademark ‘Siuu’ jump, later sharing a tense moment with Jesus on the touchline.
The fallout has been severe off the pitch. Portugal’s official Instagram account lost more than 500,000 followers in under 24 hours after news of Ronaldo’s exit broke, underlining how deeply the episode has divided fans.
