Startup Launches $999 AI Hearing Glasses For Moderate Hearing Loss

Hearing technology startup Legato has launched its flagship product, Legato Frames, AI-powered hearing glasses priced from $999. The glasses went on sale in the United States on October 1, 2026.

Legato Frames integrate hearing-assistance technology into eyeglass arms. The on-device AI separates voices from background noise and amplifies speech while reducing unwanted sounds. A dual-speaker system directs audio at the wearer and cuts escaping sound by 99 percent a few inches from the ear. There are no cameras and no recording; all processing happens on the glasses.

The frames weigh 34 grams with lenses, offer 10 to 12 hours of battery life, support prescription lenses and stream music and calls over Bluetooth. They come in three styles and are sold through Legato’s website and select US eye-care providers, where they may be covered by vision insurance.

Legato was founded in 2024 by former Bose executives Mehul Trivedi and Steve Romine, and raised $12 million from Neotribe Ventures, Listen and Village Global earlier this year.
