Pakistan will face Bangladesh in the first men’s cricket semi-final at the Asian Games 2026 on Thursday, October 1, at Korogi Sports Park in Nisshin, Japan.

The match is scheduled for 5:30 AM IST, ahead of the India-Sri Lanka semi-final later in the day. The winner moves into the gold-medal match on October 3.

Like the other semi-finalists, both teams advanced without playing their quarter-finals. Pakistan’s match against Hong Kong was washed out, and Bangladesh’s quarter-final against Malaysia was abandoned too. As higher-seeded sides, both progressed under the tournament’s qualification rules.

Sahibzada Farhan leads Pakistan, who were the bronze medallists at the previous edition. Bangladesh will look to reach their first Asian Games cricket final.

Rain has been the story of the knockout stage in Nisshin, with three consecutive quarter-finals washed out. If the semi-finals are also rained off, the higher-ranked teams — Pakistan and India — would contest the gold-medal match, while Sri Lanka and Bangladesh would play for bronze. A washed-out final would see the gold medal shared.
