Scott faces two months out after playing hurt for England

England have been hit by a double injury blow, with midfielder Alex Scott and defender Ezri Konsa both withdrawing from the squad. Scott, 23, could miss up to two months.
Scott played through pain to make his full England debut against Croatia, completing 70 minutes of the 7-0 win in Rijeka before being substituted. He is believed to have felt discomfort in his quad before the game. Konsa, the Arsenal centre-back, has returned to his club for further assessment.
Scott will miss England’s Nations League fixtures in November against Croatia and Spain, as well as Tuesday’s friendly against the Czech Republic at Wembley. His club, Bournemouth, face 14 matches in the next two months, including games against Chelsea, Manchester United and AC Milan.
The setback will slow Scott’s rapid rise. Head coach Thomas Tuchel recently backed him to challenge Declan Rice for a midfield spot after his assured debut off the bench in the 2-0 win in the Czech Republic.
