Tejashwi Demands CEC’s Resignation and Arrest in Patna

RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav launched a sharp attack on the Election Commission in Patna on October 5, demanding the resignation — and arrest — of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. He alleged that the CEC was working at the behest of the central government.
Tejashwi claimed the poll body had failed to act on complaints about voter-roll irregularities in Bihar and accused it of favouring the ruling alliance. He said the opposition would take the fight to the streets and announced an INDIA bloc "Akrosh March" in Bihar on October 7.
The remarks came a day before the opposition's march to the EC office in Delhi. The attack follows the Supreme Court's clarification on Form 6, which the opposition says strengthens its case on voter-list issues.
The BJP dismissed Tejashwi's charges as baseless and politically motivated. The CEC has not publicly responded to the demand. With the MLC polls scheduled for October 23, the battle over the poll body's credibility is intensifying in Bihar.
