The theatrical trailer of Ranabaali was released on Thursday, giving fans a nearly four-minute look at Vijay Deverakonda’s period action drama.

Directed by Rahul Sankrityan, the film stars Deverakonda as Singanamala Bobbili Ranabaali, a warrior who leads a resistance against colonial oppression during the famine of the 1870s. Rashmika Mandanna plays Jayamma, his wife, while Arnold Vosloo plays the antagonist Sir Theodore Hector.

The trailer, which runs 3 minutes and 47 seconds, shows villagers suffering under British rule before the hero rises to protect his community.

The film releases worldwide on October 16 in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam. It is produced by Mythri Movie Makers and T-Series, with music by Ajay-Atul.

Ranabaali will clash at the box office with Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2, which releases on October 15.

The film marks the first on-screen pairing of Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna after their wedding, which has added to the buzz. Trade analysts expect a strong opening given the festive season and the scale of the release.
