Dhurandhar TV premiere faces 45-50 CBFC cuts

The Central Board of Film Certification has ordered 45 to 50 cuts and modifications in Dhurandhar The Revenge ahead of its television premiere, according to an exclusive report by Bollywood Hungama.
The revised version has been cleared with a U/A 16+ certificate, replacing the A certificate of the theatrical release. The TV cut runs 219 minutes and 6 seconds, exactly 10 minutes shorter than the theatrical version, which ran 3 hours, 49 minutes and 6 seconds.
The film is set to premiere on Star Gold on Sunday, October 18, at 7 pm. Since the theatrical version carried an A certificate, the makers had to approach the CBFC again for a television-friendly cut, which was passed on September 24.
According to the report, published on September 30, a trade source said almost all the modifications pertain to extremely violent and gory scenes. The source added that the disturbing scenes were edited in a way that keeps the film’s impact intact, with the changes spread across several portions rather than one major sequence being removed.
