Karan Johar ends Koffee With Karan after 22 years

Filmmaker Karan Johar has announced that the upcoming ninth season of Koffee With Karan will be the show’s last, bringing the curtains down on the celebrity chat show after 22 years.
The final season is set to premiere on October 14 on JioHotstar, according to reports. Bollywood star Salman Khan is reported to be the first guest on the concluding season.
The announcement marks the end of one of Indian television’s longest-running celebrity talk shows. Since its debut, the show became known for its candid couch conversations with film stars, its rapid-fire round and its host’s famously probing questions about relationships and rivalries in the film industry.
Over its run, the show hosted nearly every major star in Hindi cinema and frequently made headlines for the revelations and controversies sparked by its episodes. Several seasons also streamed on digital platforms as viewing habits shifted from television to OTT.
Johar, who hosts and produces the show, has not yet detailed what will replace the flagship property in his production slate. Fans have reacted with nostalgia on social media, recalling iconic moments from the show’s two-decade journey.
