NASA’s Crew-12 to undock from ISS today

NASA and SpaceX are targeting 8:05 am EDT on Wednesday, October 7, for the undocking of the Crew-12 mission from the International Space Station. The four astronauts are scheduled to splash down off the coast of California at about 11:34 am EDT on Thursday, October 8, after a 26-hour journey home. The crew comprises NASA astronauts Jessica Meir and Jack Hathaway, ESA astronaut Sophie Adenot and Roscosmos cosmonaut Andrey Fedyaev. They have spent eight months aboard the station after launching on February 13, 2026, conducting research and experiments. On October 4, Meir handed command of the station to Roscosmos cosmonaut Pyotr Dubrov in the traditional change-of-command ceremony. Their replacements, the Crew-13 astronauts, arrived on October 1. NASA will stream the return live, with hatch-closure coverage from 6 am and undocking coverage from 7:45 am. A press conference is planned for 1:15 pm on Thursday after splashdown. The mission is part of NASA's ongoing Commercial Crew partnership with SpaceX, which has been flying astronauts to the station since 2020.
