The Andhra Pradesh Community Managed Natural Farming programme has won the 2026 Food Planet Prize. The award comes from the Curt Bergfors Foundation in Sweden. It is described as the world's largest environmental award.

The prize, worth $1.5 million, was presented in Båstad, Sweden, on June 2. APCNF was picked from more than 1,000 nominations from several countries. Thirty-five initiatives from 19 countries made the shortlist, and four became finalists.

Over the past decade, 1.8 million farmers have joined the natural-farming movement. It works through women's collectives and more than 10,000 farmer trainers across 8,000 villages. Farmers give up synthetic inputs for practices rooted in soil science and traditional knowledge.

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu dedicated the award to 18 lakh farming families and 340,000 women's self-help groups. He said the goal is to make Andhra Pradesh a 100 percent natural-farming state by 2047. The prize will fund demonstration sites, toolkits and research partnerships.
