US strike on alleged narco boat in Caribbean kills four

The US military said on Sunday it killed four people in a strike on a vessel in the Caribbean Sea. It was the latest in a campaign against alleged drug traffickers.
US Southern Command said Joint Task Force Western Hemisphere carried out a “lethal, kinetic strike” on a go-fast boat. The vessel was on established narco-trafficking routes in the Caribbean, it said.
The military cited what it called confirmed intelligence of the boat’s role in drug trafficking. It released a video that appeared to show an explosion destroying the moving vessel. The four dead were described as “narco-terrorists.”
The Pentagon has not released the identities of those killed. It has also not shown public evidence of drugs on the boats struck.
The campaign began in September 2025. An Associated Press tally puts the toll at more than 70 strikes and over 235 people killed. CNN’s analysis counts at least 238 dead across 80 vessels.
Human rights groups call the strikes unlawful killings. The Trump administration says the US is in armed conflict with drug cartels.
