Trump says he personally believes Iran behind flydubai attack

US President Donald Trump said he personally believes Iran was responsible for the attempted attack on a flydubai flight last month. He offered no evidence for the claim. Vice President JD Vance said he had not seen conclusive evidence tying Iran to the incident.
The comments came on October 5. Trump was asked directly whether Iran was behind the attack. “I do. I personally do,” he said. Vance, speaking separately, said he had not seen evidence that conclusively pointed to Tehran.
On September 30, the co-pilot of flydubai flight FZ1073 stabbed his captain during a Dubai-to-Tel Aviv flight. The Omani co-pilot, Hamam al-Hammami, 29, then tried to crash the plane into Ben Gurion airport. He was subdued by passengers and crew.
The aircraft, carrying 170 people, made an emergency landing in Saudi Arabia. Al-Hammami is in UAE custody. Israeli Channel 12 reported that he told investigators the attack was revenge for Gaza. He said he wanted to die a martyr.
