Ohio Voters Line Up Before Dawn as Early Voting Begins

Voters lined up while it was still dark on Tuesday at the Medina County Board of Elections as early voting began in Ohio. Residents queued from 7:15 am for the 8 am opening. Ohio is a key battleground in the fight for control of the US Congress.
One US Senate race and two House races in the state are rated toss-ups by the Cook Political Report. Election Day is November 3. Democrats’ turnout edged past Republicans’ on day one in Medina County, a possible early sign of higher motivation.
Voters across parties shared similar frustrations. They cited deceptive political ads, the US war with Iran and chronic inflation. Eddie St. John, 83, of Wadsworth said the economy was his top concern. He blamed President Donald Trump, who is not on the ballot, more than either party.
Early voting in Ohio runs through November 1 with varying hours. Mail ballots must reach boards by 7:30 pm on Election Day. In-person polls open at 6:30 am on November 3.
