Mountbatten-Windsor challenges UK police warrants in Epstein case

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has launched legal action against British police over search warrants linked to the Jeffrey Epstein case. The former prince, 66, lodged a judicial review asking a judge to decide whether actions by Thames Valley Police and the Central Criminal Court were lawful. The warrants allowed searches of his home on the Sandringham Estate and his former home, Royal Lodge in Windsor. A private High Court hearing will be held on Thursday. Police confirmed they are engaged in legal proceedings over the warrants and declined further comment. Mountbatten-Windsor was arrested in February on suspicion of misconduct in public office after US Epstein files suggested he shared sensitive material while Britain’s trade envoy from 2001 to 2011. He was questioned for nearly 12 hours and released under investigation. He denies wrongdoing. A royal source said the palace has no role in his legal strategy and that the King’s private funds should not pay for the challenge.
