Five drones and missiles violate Moldova airspace in 15 minutes

Five drones and missiles violated Moldova’s airspace within 15 minutes on October 3. President Maia Sandu announced the incident on Saturday morning. The objects exploded near localities in four districts.
The defence ministry said five unmanned aircraft flew over the country between 7:45 and 8:00 am. Explosions were reported near Causeni, Stefan Voda, Anenii Noi and Hincesti. Drone fragments were found in several areas. No casualties were reported.
Sandu condemned Russia’s attacks on Ukraine. She said the war directly endangers Moldovan citizens. She wrote that Moscow is putting lives at risk across Europe and must be stopped. Moscow did not immediately comment.
This was the eighth airspace violation in seven days. On October 1, Moldova summoned Russia’s ambassador over three drone incursions. The ambassador rejected the Russian origin claim and proposed a joint investigation. Police asked citizens not to touch suspicious objects and to call 112. Authorities in Chisinau say 85 Russian drones and missiles have crossed into Moldovan airspace since the Ukraine war began.
