India, UAE hold trade and investment talks in Dubai

India and the United Arab Emirates held high-level talks in Dubai on October 5 to expand trade and investment ties.
India’s Consul General in Dubai, Dr E. Vishnu Vardhan Reddy, met UAE Minister of Economy and Tourism Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri. The discussions focused on new avenues for bilateral trade, investment and business partnerships.
The Consulate General of India in Dubai said the meeting highlighted the strong momentum in India-UAE economic relations.
The talks come as the two countries deepen an already close economic partnership. The India-UAE trade pact has helped double bilateral trade to $100 billion. Both sides aim to reach $200 billion by 2032.
The UAE has signaled plans for another $25 billion in investment in India. Areas of interest include ports, shipbuilding, space, startups and the stock market.
The two countries are also working on energy security. They are exploring strategic petroleum reserves and larger UAE supplies of LPG and LNG to India.
India and the UAE signed their comprehensive economic partnership agreement in 2022.
