SpaceX Launches Classified Space Force Mission USSF-385

SpaceX launched another secret military mission before dawn on Saturday. A Falcon 9 rocket lifted off from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California at 7:00 a.m. Pacific time.
The mission, called USSF-385, is classified. The U.S. Space Force has not said what the payload is or where it is going. SpaceX ended its launch webcast after the booster landed, as it usually does for national security flights.
Observers believe the flight is the third in a series deploying Starshield satellites. Starshield is SpaceX’s government version of Starlink. Earlier flights in the series, USSF-366 and USSF-153, each left 23 cataloged satellites in orbit.
The Falcon 9 booster flew for the 10th time. It landed on the drone ship “Of Course I Still Love You” in the Pacific Ocean about eight and a half minutes after liftoff.
USSF-385 was the third classified Space Force launch from Vandenberg in 16 days. It was also the sixth and final Falcon 9 launch of the month from the California base. SpaceX is shifting its East Coast focus to Starship operations.
