Thai teen Nene Royal will open for Avenged Sevenfold in Singapore on October 13, weeks after winning America’s Got Talent.

The 16-year-old guitarist and singer from Phuket will appear as a special guest at the band’s Singapore Indoor Stadium show, the concert promoter announced. It is the band’s first Singapore show in more than 11 years.

Nene, whose real name is Rattikarn Amloy, won the 21st season of America’s Got Talent and its $1 million prize. Her audition, a powerful take on The Cranberries’ ‘Zombie’, went viral. The original TikTok clip has been viewed more than 165 million times.

She earned the Golden Buzzer from judge Mel B, jammed with Mexican trio The Warning, and performed with Linkin Park in the finale. Host Terry Crews announced her win over magician Geno Ploeger.

Nene has named Avenged Sevenfold among her biggest inspirations. The band is touring Asia and Australasia in the coming weeks.

Her victory sparked celebrations across Thailand. Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul publicly congratulated her, and Thai fans put up a billboard in New York’s Times Square.
