Musk welcomes Germany’s backing for Tesla FSD

Elon Musk has welcomed Germany’s push to get Tesla’s driver-assistance technology approved in Europe. He thanked Berlin in a short “Danke schoen” message on X on Wednesday.
German Transport Minister Steffen Bilger is pushing for quick EU approval of Tesla’s Full Self-Driving system. Germany, the Netherlands, and Belgium are backing the move.
Under the plan, the system could allow cars to go up to 10% above the speed limit. Tesla has also offered to rename the product to “Tesla Assisted Driving” to ease concerns.
Sweden and France are more cautious. They worry about safety and want more checks before approval.
A vote by EU members was expected this month. It has now been pushed to December to give time for more talks.
Approval would be a big win for Tesla. Europe is one of its key markets. The technology is already sold in the US, but rules in Europe are stricter.
The talks will continue in the coming weeks as ministers try to reach a deal.
