Jio has announced a 10th-anniversary offer pricing JioBharat 4G phones at Rs 1,499 bundled with six months of unlimited calls and data.

The offer targets first-time internet users moving from 2G feature phones. JioBharat devices bring 4G connectivity, UPI payments and Jio apps to the entry segment.

Jio's anniversary push comes as festive-season competition for mobile subscribers heats up. Rivals are expected to respond with their own bundled offers.

For users in rural and semi-urban markets, a sub-Rs 1,500 4G device with six months of service removes both cost barriers at once. Availability is via Jio retailers and online channels.

The JioBharat range has been Jio's main vehicle for converting 2G users, with tens of millions of units sold since launch. Industry analysts say the entry segment remains the largest untapped pool of data users in India.

For buyers, the maths is simple: a Rs 1,499 device with six months of bundled service works out far cheaper than buying a separate 4G phone and recharge plan. The offer is valid while stocks last through anniversary promotions.
