Promethean Launches On-Device AI Companion For Teachers’ Lessons
Mynd.ai’s Promethean brand has launched an AI Companion for its Explain Everything app, an on-device tool that helps teachers turn classroom content into tailored lesson materials in seconds.
The tool uses Apple Intelligence to let educators select any element on a lesson page, including text, images or drawings, and generate quizzes, lesson plans, vocabulary lists, audio narrations and accessibility descriptions. Everything runs on the device with no internet connection, so student data never leaves the iPad or iPhone.
AI Companion is available now on devices running iPadOS 27 or iOS 27 with Apple Intelligence enabled. It is included at no extra cost for Explain Everything Advanced and Pro users. The app has been downloaded more than 25 million times worldwide and was an App Store Editors’ Choice.
The launch comes as schools weigh AI tools against privacy concerns. By keeping processing on-device, Promethean says schools can avoid the extra privacy administration that comes with cloud-based AI services.
