Apple plans two October launch waves, Macs and smart home

Apple is reportedly planning two separate rounds of product announcements in October, according to reports.
The first wave is expected around October 13. It reportedly includes Apple’s long-awaited smart-home hub, a new HomePod mini and an updated Apple TV 4K.
The smart-home hub is expected to be the most ambitious launch. Reports say it has a roughly 6-inch square display and can be used on a tabletop or wall-mounted. It is expected to support FaceTime, music, photos and widgets, with a smarter Siri at its core.
The second wave is expected in the final week of October. Reports say new Macs are the most likely products, possibly including an M6-powered 14-inch MacBook Pro and an M6 iMac.
Apple has already said a Mac Studio with the M5 Ultra chip will arrive in late October. Higher-end MacBook models with OLED displays are also rumoured.
Apple has not confirmed any of the reported events or the full lineup. October is shaping up to be one of the company’s busiest hardware months.
