Ishan Kishan back in Test frame for New Zealand tour

Ishan Kishan is back in India’s Test discussions ahead of the New Zealand tour, according to reports.
Kishan starred in the Duleep Trophy, scoring 270 off 334 balls in the final. He finished as the tournament’s top scorer with 409 runs. His form has pushed him back into the selectors’ plans.
The selection committee, led by interim chief selector Pragyan Ojha, is expected to name squads for the ODIs, Tests and T20Is within days. India will play five T20Is, three ODIs and two Tests in New Zealand.
Reports also suggest Rishabh Pant could be dropped from the ODI squad. Kishan is seen as the frontrunner to replace him. Pant, who now plays only Tests, is expected to prepare through India A matches.
KL Rahul, Devdutt Padikkal and Sai Sudharsan are also likely to feature in India A games in New Zealand. The matches will help the players adjust to local conditions.
The Test series will be key for India’s World Test Championship hopes.
