Pedro Rodriguez Retires: Farewell to a Decorated Legend

Pedro Rodriguez has announced his retirement from football. The Spanish winger hangs up his boots as one of the most decorated players of his generation.
Pedro, 38, won the 2010 World Cup and Euro 2012 with Spain. At Barcelona, he won five La Liga titles, three Champions Leagues and three Copa del Rey trophies under Pep Guardiola. He then won the Premier League, FA Cup and Europa League with Chelsea.
He is one of the few players to have won the World Cup, the European Championship, the Champions League, the Premier League, La Liga and the Europa League.
Pedro joined Lazio in 2021 after a season with Roma. He became the club’s oldest ever goalscorer at 38 in January. He said farewell to Lazio in May with a final winning goal against Pisa.
“Every day that passes I’m getting closer to retirement,” he had said last season, while insisting he wanted to leave Lazio in a European place.
The Canary Islander made 185 appearances for Lazio and scored 34 goals. His brace against Inter Milan last season dented Inter’s title hopes and helped Napoli win the Scudetto.
Football loses one of its great winners.
