Missouri thumped No. 8 Florida 45-17 on Saturday, handing the Gators their first loss of the season. The Tigers scored 35 unanswered points after the game was tied 10-10.
Missouri quarterback Simmons threw for 340 yards and two touchdowns, while running back Roberts rushed for 211 yards and three scores, including an 80-yard touchdown run.
Florida running back Baugh, one of the nation’s top rushers, was held to 13 yards on the ground. The Gators fell to 4-1.
“Embarrassing performance in every phase,” Florida coach Sumrall said after the loss.
Missouri improved to 4-1 with the statement win. Florida hosts South Carolina next Saturday as it looks to bounce back.
