Kentucky stuns South Carolina 35-34 in largest road comeback

No. 24 Kentucky rallied from 17-0 down to stun South Carolina 35-34 in overtime on Saturday, completing the largest road comeback in program history.

Quarterback Minchey threw a touchdown to Boyer in overtime, then connected with Rodriguez on the two-point conversion to win it. Minchey finished with 272 yards and three touchdowns.

South Carolina quarterback Sellers threw for 226 yards and rushed for 147, but the Gamecocks could not hold the lead. A 29-yard field goal by Zouagui had tied the game at 27 late in regulation.

“You’ve just got to take chances,” Kentucky coach Stein said after the win. The Wildcats trailed 17-0 in the first half before clawing back.

The win moves Kentucky to 4-1 on the season. They host LSU next Saturday.
