Kohli’s Final Push: 15 Centuries Short of Tendulkar’s 101

Virat Kohli stands 15 centuries short of Sachin Tendulkar’s record of 101 international hundreds. With Tests behind him, ODIs are his last route.
Kohli has 86 international centuries. He retired from Test cricket in May 2025, and his T20 career is over. Only one-day internationals remain.
India have 11 confirmed bilateral ODIs before the 2027 World Cup. The Asia Cup could add more games. A possible six-match series against South Africa may also come into the schedule.
His latest hundred, 139 not out against the West Indies, showed he is still hungry. In that innings he also became the fastest to 15,000 ODI runs, reaching the mark in 303 innings. Tendulkar needed 377. It was his 55th ODI century, extending his own record.
Kohli passed Tendulkar’s 49 ODI centuries back in the 2023 World Cup semi-final. Now the bigger mark is in sight.
Fifteen hundreds in about a dozen games is a huge ask, even for Kohli. But if anyone can chase it, he can.
