Kaprizov scores twice as Wild rally past Bruins 4-1

Kirill Kaprizov scored twice as the Minnesota Wild beat the Boston Bruins 4-1 on Saturday night in Saint Paul, scoring four straight goals to win their home opener. Quinn Hughes added a goal and an assist.
Tanner Jeannot gave Boston an early lead, scoring less than two minutes into the game. Kaprizov tied it on a power play six minutes into the second period, converting a feed from Maxim Shabanov, according to the Associated Press.
Hughes put Minnesota ahead 2-1 with a wrist shot late in the second period. Captain Jared Spurgeon made it 3-1 early in the third with a shot that deflected off a defender’s skate. Kaprizov added an empty-net goal with 1:01 left for his third goal of the season.
Jesper Wallstedt made 26 saves for the Wild, who improved to 2-0-0. Boston, playing on back-to-back nights after an overtime win at Winnipeg, dropped to 2-1-0.
Wild coach John Hynes praised his team’s response. “We stayed with it,” he said. “Then we came out in the second and played a little bit better and figured out how we could get a little bit more going.”
