India face Pakistan in Asian Games cricket final

India will face Pakistan in the Asian Games men’s cricket gold medal match on Saturday. The final starts at 10:00 AM IST at the Korogi Sports Park in Nisshin.
India stormed into the final by beating Sri Lanka by 124 runs in the semifinal on Thursday. India posted 169 for 7, with Ishan Kishan scoring an unbeaten 80 off 46 balls and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi adding 38. Sri Lanka were bowled out for 45.
Pakistan beat Bangladesh by six wickets in a rain-curtailed 13-over contest to reach the final.
Bangladesh and Sri Lanka will play the bronze medal match before the gold match. A complete washout would leave India and Pakistan sharing the gold, according to tournament rules.
The pre- and post-match handshakes are unlikely. India have refused handshakes with Pakistani players since the Pahalgam terror attack in 2025, including during the men’s and women’s Asia Cup tournaments.
This is the first Asian Games cricket gold medal match between the two arch-rivals.
