Wales stun Norway 2-1 as Haaland is kept quiet

Wales earned their first-ever Nations League A victory with a 2-1 comeback win over Norway in Cardiff on Thursday. Erling Haaland was kept scoreless.
Norway took an early lead through Oscar Bobb. But the game turned seconds after half-time when Torbjorn Heggem was sent off for pulling down Daniel James.
James had already equalised just before the break. Neco Williams curled home the resulting free-kick to complete the turnaround.
Haaland, who has 65 goals in 58 Norway appearances, was largely anonymous. Swansea defender Ben Cabango marked him tightly and even took his shirt after the game.
The defeat is Norway’s second straight loss after falling to Portugal last week. Craig Bellamy’s side responded well after their defeat to Denmark. Wales now face a crucial run of fixtures.
The result keeps Wales in the hunt in a tight group. Norway, World Cup quarter-finalists this summer, now sit level on three points with Denmark and Wales. They face Portugal again on Sunday in Porto, where Haaland will look to end his rare dry spell.
