Tunisia have cancelled their October 3 friendly against Mali in Rades, citing injuries and fears about their FIFA ranking. The Tunisian Football Federation announced the decision on Wednesday after consultations with the coaching staff and agreement with the Malian federation, according to Reuters. Tunisia are ranked 61st and are struggling in 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying Group H, where they have two points from a 1-1 draw with Uganda and a 2-2 draw with Botswana on Monday. Uganda top the group on four points, Botswana are second on two with a better goal difference, and Libya sit bottom on one point. With only group winners guaranteed to qualify, and co-hosts Uganda already assured, the results have put Tunisia under pressure. Mali have quickly lined up a replacement, facing Morocco in Tangier on October 4 after Morocco's friendly with Ghana was also cancelled. The Tunisian federation is expected to announce an alternative fixture for the October international window soon.
