The result leaves the Philippines third in Group B with one point and a minus-one goal difference, while Pakistan also have one point but a minus-four goal difference. Thailand lead the group with six points and Vietnam have three. The Philippines now need a win against Thailand on Friday to keep their qualification hopes alive. Head coach Carles Cuadrat urged his players to take responsibility for the collapse and respond in the must-win game.
