HB Koge make Danish history with 5-1 UWCL win

HB Køge have made Danish football history, beating Switzerland’s Servette 5-1 for the first win by a Danish women’s team in the Champions League group stage since the format began in 2021-22.
The Danes took control early at Koge Stadium. American right-back Macy Schultz opened the scoring after nine minutes with a clever heel flick. Nadia Nadim nodded in a second before Noémie Carage’s own goal made it 3-0 by half-time.
Servette pulled one back through Laia Ballesté after the break, but Kyra Carusa’s header restored the cushion and substitute Emelía Óskarsdóttir added a fifth. Carusa was named player of the match.
The result puts HB Køge’s first points on the board after a narrow opening defeat to Arsenal. UEFA’s roundup confirmed the historic nature of the win, noting the Danes are now unbeaten in their last seven home UEFA women’s competition matches. The historic result underlines the rapid rise of Danish women’s club football on the European stage.
