India to face Pakistan in Asian Games cricket final

India will face arch-rivals Pakistan in the gold-medal match of the Asian Games 2026 men’s cricket tournament on Saturday, October 3.
India stormed into the final with a 124-run win over Sri Lanka in Thursday’s semifinal at Korogi Sports Park in Nisshin, Japan. Ishan Kishan smashed an unbeaten 80 off 46 balls as India posted 169 for seven.
Sri Lanka then collapsed to 45 all out in 9.5 overs. Jasprit Bumrah took two for seven, while Axar Patel and Abhishek Sharma also struck as India’s bowlers produced a ruthless display.
Pakistan reached the final by beating Bangladesh by six wickets in a rain-shortened semifinal. The final starts at 10 am IST and will be shown live on Sony Sports Network.
India are the defending champions, having won gold at Hangzhou 2023. Pakistan are chasing their first men’s cricket gold at the Asian Games. The clash promises to be one of the highlights of the Games, with both teams fielding young squads in the T20 format.
