Archery compound semis, boxing bouts headline India’s Sept 30

India face a packed September 30 at the Asian Games in Nagoya, with archery compound semifinals and three boxing semifinal bouts among the day’s headline medal opportunities.
The Indian women’s compound archery team take on South Korea in the semifinal at 5:55 am IST, with the medal matches scheduled for 6:25 am. India also compete in the compound mixed team semifinal against Thailand at 7:55 am, and the men’s compound team semifinal against South Korea at 10:55 am, each followed by bronze and gold medal matches.
Boxing offers three more medal chances. Priya Ghanghas faces China’s Yang Chengyu in the women’s 60kg semifinal at 10:15 am, Lovlina Borgohain takes on Kazakhstan’s Natalya Bogdanova in the women’s 75kg semifinal at 10:45 am, and Kapil Pokhariya faces Uzbekistan’s Turabek Khabibullaev in the men’s 90kg semifinal at noon.
Tennis action includes Dhakshineswar Suresh against Chinese Taipei’s T. Chun in men’s singles and Sumit Nagal against Uzbekistan’s S. Fomin, alongside two men’s doubles quarterfinals. The women’s squash team faces Singapore in the quarterfinals at 6:30 am while the men’s team takes on Kuwait at 11 am.
Wrestling, judo, sailing, shooting, cycling and canoe slalom also feature, with Nisha in women’s freestyle 68kg and Sunil Kumar in men’s Greco-Roman 87kg among the wrestlers in action.
