NASA leads Artemis talks at space congress in Antalya

NASA is taking part in the 77th International Astronautical Congress in Antalya, Türkiye. The congress runs from October 5 to 9. It is hosted by the Turkish Space Agency.
The NASA delegation is led by Deputy Administrator Matt Anderson. The agency will highlight human exploration to the Moon and Mars. It will also promote responsible exploration under the Artemis Accords.
The Artemis Accords now have more than 75 signatories. The 2026 Principals’ Meeting is co-chaired by Anderson and Peru’s space agency chief, Major General Roberto Melgar Sheen.
The meeting will discuss support for emerging space nations. It will also look at lunar debris-mitigation rules. NASA has invited all signatories to join its Moon Base plans through payloads and CubeSats.
The congress covers sessions on Earth observation and small satellites. Jeremy Parsons, NASA’s Artemis program manager, presented lessons from the Artemis II test flight.
An Artemis Accords news conference is set for Wednesday. The IAC is organised by the International Astronautical Federation. It is the world’s largest annual space gathering.
