Thackeray brothers march in Mumbai today against Election Commission

Raj Thackeray and Uddhav Thackeray will lead a joint protest march in Mumbai today against the Election Commission of India. The demonstration targets the poll body and Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over alleged electoral irregularities.
The march begins at 10:00 am from the Richardson and Cruddas premises in Byculla and moves toward the BMC headquarters near Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus. A public meeting will follow near the BMC office around 11:30 am. Organisers have asked participants to carry only the Indian Tricolour, with no party flags or banners, calling it a non-partisan citizens’ movement.
The plan was announced on September 29 at a joint press conference by the MNS chief and the Shiv Sena (UBT) chief. They accuse the Commission of acting as an extension of the ruling party and of deceiving voters through the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls.
Raj Thackeray invited all parties to join, and NCP-SP leader Shashikant Shinde has said his party will take part. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis downplayed the march, saying protest is a democratic right but allegations should be verified.
The march follows protests by the Congress on September 29 and the CJP on October 2 over the same issue.
