Delhi Police have filed a non-cognisable report against PWD Minister Parvesh Verma and an FIR against AAP MLA Jarnail Singh in the slap row from Sunday.

The NCR against Verma is under Section 115 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, which covers voluntarily causing hurt. It was filed on the complaint of Sahib Singh. The FIR against Jarnail Singh is on a complaint by PWD engineers. They allege he blocked officials and used threats.

The clash broke out during a road repair inspection in Tilak Nagar. Verma was checking the quality of work on the Outer Ring Road stretch from Janakpuri DC Chowk to the Najafgarh Drain. Singh pulled up a newly laid surface to claim the work was poor. A video of the face-off spread online.

AAP held a protest led by Delhi chief Saurabh Bharadwaj. He was detained. Arvind Kejriwal demanded Verma’s arrest. Verma denied wrongdoing and said Sahib Singh abused his family. He also accused Singh of making a demand.
