INDIA Bloc Holds Day-3 Sit-In At Rajghat, Demands CEC’s Exit

Top INDIA bloc leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, held a peaceful sit-in at Rajghat on Thursday after paying tribute to Mahatma Gandhi. It was the third day of protests in the national capital.
The opposition reiterated its demand for the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls. Leaders have used the phrase ‘vote chori’ to describe what they allege are wrongful voter exclusions.
The Election Commission and the BJP have rejected the allegations, maintaining that the revision is meant to keep voter lists accurate. Police have beefed up security across central Delhi, and prohibitory orders under Section 163 remain in force in the New Delhi district.
The bloc is planning a march to Rashtrapati Bhavan to press its demands, though leaders have not yet secured an appointment with the President. The Supreme Court is also examining the controversy, having sought poll-body records on a disputed Form 6.
