Bhagwat: World Looks to India for Answers to Global Crises

RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat on Friday said the world looks to India for answers to global crises, linking the nation’s spiritual traditions with its national strength.
Addressing the 14th conference of the Akhil Bharatiya Vihar Seva Samuh in Mumbai, Bhagwat said dharma and rashtra, the nation, are inseparable and sustain each other.
He said India’s knowledge traditions, including the Vedas, Upanishads, Ramayana, Mahabharata, Gita, Jain Agamas, Tripitaka and Guru Granth Sahib, form a shared resource the world can draw on.
Bhagwat defined dharma not as ritual religion but as a universal code of humanity and brotherhood. He warned that a weakened moral foundation leads to national decline, while a weak nation puts moral values at risk.
Speaking after visits to New York, Toronto and London, he said global expectations from India are higher than ever. He added that India has never imposed its ideology, invaded foreign lands or enforced religious conversions.
He also urged Jain community members to stay in touch with local RSS volunteers while travelling so they can assist and help pass on traditions.
