Monsoon Withdraws From Delhi; Highs of 33-35°C This Weekend

The southwest monsoon has withdrawn from Delhi, the weather office said, bringing an end to the rainy season in the national capital.
Daytime temperatures are expected to stay between 33 and 35 degrees Celsius through the weekend. Mornings will feel pleasant, but afternoons will remain warm under clear skies.
Humidity levels will drop as drier air moves in, making conditions more comfortable than the muggy days of late September.
Elsewhere, rain is likely over Kerala, coastal Karnataka, Lakshadweep and parts of the northeast over the next few days. The weather office has advised residents in these regions to stay alert for heavy showers.
The withdrawal marks the start of the post-monsoon season for northern India. Day temperatures will gradually fall through October as winter approaches.
Delhi’s air quality typically worsens after the monsoon as wind speeds drop. Residents with breathing difficulties are advised to track daily air quality bulletins.
The capital usually feels its first winter chill in early November, when night temperatures begin to fall sharply.
