Kautilya conclave debates ‘Resilience in an Age of Flux’

The fifth Kautilya Economic Conclave opened in New Delhi on October 3 under the theme ‘Resilience in an Age of Flux’. The three-day gathering runs through October 5.
The conclave is an initiative of the Institute of Economic Growth, organised with the Finance Ministry. More than 180 policymakers, economists, academics and financial experts are attending, including over 80 international participants from around 30 countries.
Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan delivered the inaugural address. The opening session examined how economic policy can build resilience without hurting growth, openness or credibility amid repeated global shocks.
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is addressing a special plenary on India’s economic priorities. Reserve Bank Governor Sanjay Malhotra will speak on central banking in volatile times.
External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar will deliver the concluding address on October 5. Sessions also cover trade fragmentation, supply chains, technology and the digital economy.
The Institute of Economic Growth was founded in 1952 by Professor V.K.R.V. Rao. Earlier conclave themes included ‘The Indian Era’ in 2024 and ‘Seeking Prosperity in Turbulent Times’ in 2025.
