West Bengal Launches 3,300 ‘Seva Setu’ Welfare Camps From Oct 2

West Bengal has launched the "Seva Setu Abhiyan," a massive outreach drive holding 3,300 welfare camps across the state from October 2 to 4.
The camps run from 10 AM to 4 PM daily and cover 60 government schemes, including Annapurna Yojana, PM Awas, Shiksha Shree and Joy Johar.
The programme is being coordinated from Nabanna, the state secretariat. Officials say the camps bring government services to people's doorsteps.
Citizens can apply for scheme benefits, check their application status and get grievances resolved on the spot at the camps.
The drive covers both state and central schemes. PM Awas, the central housing scheme, is included alongside Bengal's own welfare programmes.
Large-scale camp drives have become a staple of Bengal's governance model. They are designed to cut through bureaucratic delays and reach rural areas.
Officials expect heavy footfall, particularly for housing and pension schemes. Local administrations have been told to ensure adequate staffing.
The three-day window is short, so beneficiaries are advised to visit their nearest camp with documents early in the day.
