Swiss President Guy Parmelin will pay a State Visit to India from October 5 to 7. The Ministry of External Affairs confirmed the visit on October 1.
It will be Parmelin’s first State Visit to India. He is visiting at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Modi and Parmelin will hold bilateral talks on October 5. The agenda covers trade, investment, science, technology, mobility and culture.
Parmelin will also meet President Droupadi Murmu, who will host an official banquet in his honour. External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar will call on him.
A key event is the 2nd India-EFTA Prosperity Summit on October 7. It marks one year since the India-EFTA trade agreement, TEPA, came into force.
